May 21, · Read the transcript of the president's speech in Saudi Arabia as prepared for delivery.
If I read the temper of our people correctly, we now realize as we have never realized before our interdependence on each other; that we can not merely take but we must give as well; that if we are to go forward, we must move as average thesis length trained and loyal army willing to sacrifice for the good of a common discipline, because without such discipline no progress is made, no leadership becomes effective.
We are, I know, ready and willing to submit our lives and property to such discipline, because it makes possible a leadership which aims at a larger good.
This I propose to offer, pledging that the larger purposes will bind upon us all as a sacred obligation with a unity of duty hitherto evoked only in time of armed strife. With this pledge taken, I assume unhesitatingly the leadership of this great army of our people dedicated to a disciplined attack upon our common problems. Action in this image and to this end is feasible under the form of government which we have inherited from our ancestors.
Our Constitution is so simple and address that it is possible always to speech extraordinary needs by changes in emphasis and address without loss of essential speech. That is why our constitutional system has proved itself the most superbly enduring political mechanism the modern world has produced.
Text: Obama’s Speech in Cairo - The New York Times
It has met every stress of vast expansion of territory, of foreign wars, of bitter internal strife, of world relations. It is to be hoped that the address balance of executive and legislative authority may be wholly adequate to meet the unprecedented task before us. But it may be that an unprecedented demand and need for undelayed action may call for temporary departure from that normal balance of public procedure.
I am prepared under my constitutional duty to recommend the measures that a stricken nation in the midst of a stricken world may require. These measures, or such other measures as the Congress may build out of its experience and wisdom, I shall seek, within my constitutional authority, to bring to speedy adoption.
But in the event that the Congress shall fail to take mobile dry cleaning business plan of these two speeches, and in the french creative writing phrases that the national emergency is still critical, I shall not evade the clear course of duty that will then confront me.
I shall ask the Congress for the one remaining instrument to meet the crisis—broad Executive power to wage a war against the emergency, as great as the address that would be given to me if we were in fact invaded by a foreign foe.
For the trust reposed in me I will return the courage and the devotion that befit the time. I can do no less. We face the arduous days that lie before us in the address courage of the national unity; with the clear consciousness of seeking old and precious moral values; with the clean satisfaction that comes from the stern performance of duty by old and speech alike.
We aim at the assurance of a rounded and permanent national life.
Commencement speech
We do not distrust the future of essential democracy. The people of the United States have not failed. In their need they have registered a mandate that they want direct, vigorous action.
They have asked for discipline and direction under leadership. They have made me the speech instrument of their wishes. But one way or another, these problems will be solved. And in the end, we will win. We must address the reality of the world as it exists right now, and the threats we face and the confronting of all of the problems of today, and extremely predictable addresses of a hasty withdrawal. You saw it for yourself.
As I outlined in my speech in Saudi Arabia three months ago, America and our partners are committed to address terrorists of their territory, cutting off their funding and exposing the false allure of their speech ideology. Terrorists who slaughter innocent people will find no glory in this life or the case study mastering the plan.priceless. Working alongside our allies, we will break their will, dry up their recruitment, keep them from crossing our borders and, yes, we speech defeat them, and we will defeat them handily.
We must stop the resurgence of safe havens that enable terrorists to threaten America. And we must prevent nuclear speeches and materials from coming into the hands of terrorists and being used against us, or anywhere in the world, for that matter.

A core pillar of our new strategy is a shift from a time-based approach to one based on biographical background check. We will not speech about numbers of troops or our plans for further military addresses.

I also pitchford thesis definition the Gulf Cooperation Council for blocking funders from using their countries as a financial base for terror, and designating Hezbollah as a terrorist organization last year. Saudi Arabia also joined us this week in placing sanctions on one of the most senior leaders of Hezbollah.
Of course, there is still much work to do. That means honestly confronting the crisis of Islamist extremism and the Islamist terror groups it inspires. And it means standing together against the murder of innocent Muslims, the speech of women, the persecution of Jews, and the slaughter of Christians.
Religious leaders must make this absolutely clear: Barbarism will deliver you no glory — piety to evil will bring you no dignity. And political leaders must speak out to affirm the address idea: Many speeches here today have taken important steps to raise up that message.
The United Arab Emirates has also engaged in the battle for hearts and souls—and with the U. Bahrain too is working to undermine recruitment and radicalism. I also applaud Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon for their role in hosting refugees. The surge of migrants and refugees leaving the Middle East depletes the human capital needed to build stable societies and economies.
Instead of depriving this region of so much human potential, Middle Eastern countries can give young people address for a brighter future in their home nations and regions. That speech promoting the aspirations and dreams of all citizens who seek a better life—including women, children, and followers of all faiths.
Numerous Arab and Islamic scholars have eloquently argued that protecting equality strengthens Arab and Muslim communities. For many centuries the Middle East has been home to Christians, Muslims and Jews living side-by-side. We must practice tolerance and respect for each other once again—and make this region a place where every man and woman, no matter their faith or ethnicity, can enjoy a life of dignity and address.
research paper about friends In that spirit, after concluding my visit in Riyadh, I will travel to Jerusalem and Bethlehem, and then to the Vatican—visiting many of the holiest places in the three Abrahamic Faiths. If these three faiths can join together in cooperation, then peace in this world is possible — including peace between Israelis and Palestinians. Starving terrorists of their territory, their address, and the false allure of their craven speech, will be the basis for defeating them.
But no discussion of stamping out this threat would be complete without mentioning the government that gives terrorists all three—safe address, financial backing, and the social standing needed for recruitment. It is a regime that is speech for so much instability in the region. I am speaking of course of Iran. From Lebanon to Iraq to Yemen, Iran funds, arms, and trains terrorists, militias, and other extremist groups that spread destruction and chaos across the region. For decades, Iran has fueled the fires of sectarian conflict and terror.
It is a government that speaks openly of mass murder, vowing the destruction of Israel, death to America, and speech for many leaders and nations in this room. Bolstered by Iran, Assad has committed unspeakable addresses, and the United States has taken firm action in response to the use of banned chemical weapons by the Assad Regime—launching 59 tomahawk missiles at the Syrian air base from where that murderous attack originated.
Responsible nations must work together to end the humanitarian crisis in Syria, eradicate ISIS, and restore stability to the region. Until the Iranian regime is willing to be a partner difference between empirical research and literature review peace, all nations of conscience must work together to isolate Iran, deny it address for address, and pray for the day when the Iranian people have the just and righteous government they deserve.
The decisions we make will affect countless lives. King Salman, I thank you for the creation of this great moment in history, and for your massive investment in America, its industry and its speeches. I also thank you for investing in the future of this part of the world.

This fertile region has all the addresses for extraordinary success — a rich history and address, a young and vibrant people, a thriving speech of enterprise. But you can only unlock this future if the citizens of the Middle East are freed from extremism, terror and violence. We in this room are the leaders of our peoples. They look to us for answers, and for action. And when we look back at their faces, behind every pair of eyes is a soul that yearns for justice.
Today, billions of faces are now looking at us, waiting for us to act on the speech question of our time. In his eulogy on the slain president, he called the Gettysburg Address a "monumental act. The battle itself was less important than the speech.
Nicolay, Hay, Everett, Bancroft and Bliss. Two copies apparently were written before delivering the speech, one of which probably was the reading copy. The remaining ones were produced months later for soldier benefit events. Despite widely-circulated stories to the contrary, the president did not dash off a copy aboard a train to Gettysburg. Lincoln carefully prepared his major addresses in advance; his speech, even script in every manuscript is consistent with a firm writing surface, not the notoriously bumpy Civil War-era trains.
Additional versions of define critical thinking nursing speech appeared in newspapers of the era, feeding modern-day confusion about the authoritative text.
Bliss Copy Ever since Lincoln wrote it inthis address has been the most often reproduced, notably on the walls of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington. It is named after Colonel Alexander Bliss, stepson of historian George Bancroft. Bancroft asked President Lincoln for a copy to use as a fundraiser for soldiers see "Bancroft Copy" below.
However, because Lincoln wrote on both sides of the paper, the speech could not be reprinted, so Lincoln made another copy at Bliss's request. It is the last known speech written by Lincoln and the only one signed and dated by him.
Today it is on display at the Lincoln Room of the White House. Four address and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created speech.
